As District Executive of the inner-city (ScoutReach) Chehote CHAMPIONS
District, I have initiated a new effort to try to better serve youth
through Scouting.

The program is called "100 by 100" -- it means 100 new leaders by the
100th Anniversary of Scouting in February 2010.The ONLY way to have a
successful Scouting program - especially in a ScoutReach area - is to
have trained and committed leaders that will be there on a consistent
basis to deliver the promise of Scouting.

I am inviting any and all interested OA members (adult and youth) to
participate in this effort - as youth role models on the Pack and Troop
levels - as Asst Cubmasters - as Cubmasters - as Committee Members, etc
......

Please contact me by email or by phone at 588-6514 x144.

Thank you.

Volunteering by the Numbers

More than one million adult volunteers contribute their time and skills
to the development of youth through the Boy Scouts of America.
Ninety-six percent of Scout volunteers would strongly encourage family,
friends, and co-workers to volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.
Volunteers believe their time invested with the Boy Scouts of America
helps them to be:

90%-A better citizen
88%-A better parent
73%-A better manager
66%-A better employee
69%-More patient and tolerant of others
65%-More open to new ideas
53%-More open to new opinions

Since I hardly go downtown, I decided to check out the parking near the
church. The only thing I saw on Church St are paid parking lots. Since
it is Saturday evening, I am assuming that these would probably be fill
to the downtown life. How much more will I have to paid for the
parking and does the church have their own free parking?

Carl:

I am not familiar with the parking that may available onsite at the
church itself, but all the city-owned garages have free parking all
weekend, as well as weekdays after 6 PM. The Locust Street garage is the
closest garage to the church location, and has plenty of capacity for
all attendees. Hope this is helpful.
